MICROARS is proud to contribute in its works for environment protection and preservation.

Aware of how important environmental issues are, MICROARS is dedicated to energy efficiency one of the three business segments facused by the company. In this segment MICROARS is proud to announce to its costumers that all products commercialized meet ROHS Directive (Restriction of Certain Harzadous Substances). ROHS does not allow that certain hazardous substances are used in the manufacturing process of the products. As follows, a brief explanation on ROHS directive.

RoHS (Restriction of Certain Harzadous Substances) is a an European Directive that prohibits that certain hazardous substances are used in products manufacturing process: cadmio (Cd)m nercury (Hg), Lead (Pb), Hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE). PBB and PBDE are flame retardants used in several pastics.

The maximum permitted concentrations are 0.1% or 1000 ppm (except for cadmium, which is limited to 0.01% or 100 ppm) by weight of homogeneous material. This means that the limits do not apply to the weight of the finished product, or even to a component, but to any single substance that could (theoretically) be separated mechanically - for exemple, the sheath on a cable or the tinning on a componentlead.

RoHS is also know as lead-free law.
